Ebay Follow Up

After many hours and much data going back and forth between us and Ebay we ended up resolving the issue that they had taken our account down for.  Our only issue at this point was the amount of time that it took to complete everything, but in the end I guess it all worked out….

Ebay

Posted by admin on November 4th, 2008

I love Ebay and have used it religiously until recently!  I received an email from them letting us know that our account was being suspended indefinitely?!  Without contacting us via email, phone, or anything they just cancel all of our listings and inform us that we are no longer allowed to buy or sell on Ebay until the issue is resolved…. so today I emailed them to ask for an explanation and they tell us the following:

Several years ago we think that your account could have been linked to another account that we suspended and as such we need to investigate things before you are able to be a member of the community again.  I said I thought it would have been nice to know this as we had active bids and listings on the site and think that it adversely affects perception of our username on Ebay.  They replied that this was an automated software issue and that I needed to send them all sorts of information.

This makes me think, wow, with everything going on in the marketplace now between Ebay/Amazon/Overstock there is a reason why many sellers are abandoning Ebay for other marketplaces.  No longer can a seller leave a negative or even neutral feedback for buyers, fees are rising, and as evidenced personally the customer service is severely lacking!  When I think of Ebay I think of a community and a company that used to be very very dedicated to both buyers and sellers, but I truly wonder what the future of Ebay is and who the new kid on the block will be in the coming years…..

I will keep you posted on what transpires but my feeling is to move on altogether; a shame considering how much I have enjoyed the company over the years!

Canine Caviar

Posted by admin on October 16th, 2008

I know with a name like Canine Caviar you would think that I am talking about something that still has to do with cats but I’m not.  I was recently introduced to a new product that Sushi and Espy absolutely love; and it lasts forever!  The product is a stingray tail of all things; who knew that a Stingray tail would fascinate dogs and keep them busy for hours.  The cool thing about these is that they are all natural and have a texture kind of like snake skin to them.  The rays have little keratin beads that create a texture to them that keep dogs occupied and acts as a perfect natural toothbrush.  The toughness of the product is also pretty good; a typical 6-8″ tail lasts about 2-3 days in our house.  I know that this probably won’t be the case for all of you but we have little guys at home.

The only problem with the ray tails is that they smell like the ocean but I guess everything that a dog chews and puts into its mouth smells over time.  In the end, my prediction is that these become a cult classic like bully sticks or himalayan dog chews!
